The process of becoming a UK RN
There are many steps to take on the road to becoming a UK Registered Nurse. Below are some helpful links:
NMC: All nurses working in the UK must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
UKVI: Nurses will need a visa to work in the UK, and are now eligible to apply for the new Health and Care Visa (Tier 2).
English Language Proficiency
Nurses will need to pass one of the following English Language tests as part of their UK registration application.
IELTS (Academic): Nurses must achieve a minimum 7.0 score in Listening, Reading and Speaking, and no less than a 6.5 score in Writing.
OR
OET: Nurses must achieve a minimum Grade B in Reading, Speaking and Listening, and no less than C+ in Writing.
